The Cartek Solid State Battery
Isolator Switch, is a fully electronic
Master/Kill Switch system designed specifically for race car
applications.
It contains no moving parts.
Its solid
construction provides high resistance to shock, vibration, moisture and
dirt.
Using the latest MOSFET technology, this isolator provides
safe, spark-free isolation of the vehicles battery and engine electrics
in accordance with FIA safety regulations.
This is a NEGATIVE BATTERY CUT-OFF SWITCH.
It isolates the negative side of the battery.
The body of the unit must be earthed directly to the chassis. Alternatively (if mounted on fibreglass for example) an earth strap of the same size as the battery earth cable must be bolted to the body of the unit and then to the chassis.
The Positive supply cable to the 6mm 'BATTERY POSITIVE' stud is the supply to enable the unit to function.
This in turn supplies/isolates the 'POWER TO FUEL/IGN' 6mm stud.
